The notebook follows an elderly couples early stages of their relationship. Let me tell all of you right now, it is the sweetest story, but it is not without its battles along the way. The girl Allie comes from a rich family, while Noah the boy, is poor with only an old house that is falling apart, that he one day hopes to fix up. Allies family does not approve of Noah because of his lack of money. This leads to fights within her family and ultimately Noah breaks it off with her. Allies family moves away and since this is the 1940´s there is no quick way to get in touch with each other. Noah soon regrets breaking it off and begins writing letters to Allie . Unfortunately Allie never gets these since her mother begins to stash them away. By chance, Allie comes back into town and sees Noah on the front page of the newspaper where he is pictured with the old house that he fully renovated and is looking to sell. She visits Noah and she finds out about the letters, they rekindle their love but Allie is engaged to another man. She soon has to decide between the safe choice that her family approves of or the love of her life.

This is a story of always finding the one you love, no matter the circumstances, and that you shouldńt always follow your parents advice.
